Public Education 

The public education program of the Coast Guard Auxiliary is designed to meet the many needs of the recreational boater.  Thus we have several boating safety classes we can offer.  
Listed below is a Schedule of  USCG Auxiliary classes scheduled for 2008 in Tillamook County, Oregon. 
Classes not on the current schedule (listed below) can be requested.  If enough interest is shown  we will be happy to schedule any of the available classes.  Safety presentations to Service Groups and Businesses are also avalailabe on request - let us know what your needs are.          Email us

Note: If you are 12-70 years of age this year you will need the Oregon State Boater Education Card to operate a boat.

Our Boating Skills and Seamanship - 8 lesson class (2 days - much more detailed) or
ABC (American Boating Council) classes (1 day - bare essentials) qualifies the boater for the Oregon Boater Education Card.

Boating Skills & Seamanship - 8 lesson (satisfies oregon boater card requirements)
     * ABC (American Boating Council) One day course satisfies the Oregon Boater Eucation Card Requirements.
     * Boating Skills & Seamanship - 12 lesson

         (Core lessons (8) plus Basic Piloting, Weather, Radiotelephone, Marlinspike Seamanship)
     * Sailing Fundamentals
     * Basic Coastal Navigation
     * Advanced Coastal Navigation
     * GPS - Global Positioning System
     * PWC - Personal Water Craft Course
     * BF - Boating Fun - Adventure on the Water

          All Sudents must Pre-register with TBBC 48 hours before the class.

Cost: $25.00 for Text Book & Study Materials
          Please register early and give yourself a chance to pre-read
          the book or view the included CD so you can get more out of the course.
