Some of
the operational missions we perform for the Coast Guard include:
Operations on the water, in the Air, and on the ground.

Safety Patrols -
Providing a visible presence on the water where we can assist boaters
in need. (Emergency Towing, Search & Rescue, Etc.)
Tending a safe position on the Bar to provide a margin of safety for boaters during
hazardous Surf conditions during the fall fishing season.
Observing conditions in the harbor and water ways for hazarous spills.




Member Training Patrols -
Making sure our members are well prepared to deal with the challenges of the various missions we are assigned.
Training Excersizes: In the Class Room, On-The-Water, Special Training Aids.
ATON/chart updating patrols -
Observing Navigational Aids and noting changes needed to the local charts.
Reporting Navigational Aids that need repair.
Reporting a change in traffic use or environmetal conditions in the
local area that may necessitate a review of the navigational aids and
changes that will make the area safer for all.

Regatta patrols -
Providing on-the-water support for Regatta Events.
Traffic control, on-the-water assistance to participants, first aid, transportation for Regatta Officials, etc.

Communications - Radio Patrols
Members
who undergo the qualifications training can serve at the Communications
Center at the Coast Guard Station or the CG Tower and be a part of the
action as a Radio Watch Stander. Also Members who have the desire to
outfit their own Radio Facility (either fixed land or mobile) can act as a secondary emergency
communications station participating in the Emergency Management
Network during an emergency should one occur.
